Immediately after the end of that event, the Chinese Academy
of Art, considered to be the top fine-arts university in all of
China, made a proposal to the exhibit's executive committee to
co-organize the following year's exhibition and it was decided
that the "China-Japan International Contemporary Art Exhibition
2005" would once again be held in Zhejiang Province in March
of 2005.
Ultimately, that 2nd exhibition was held with the International
College of the China Academy of Art as the main organizer and
with the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles,
the Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society, the Zhejiang Painting Academy
and the Sesshu International Art Society all co-organizers, and
it became a meaningful exchange exhibition that was an indicator
of the young students who will be shouldering the future of the
field of art in China.
For the cutting of the tape, Mr. Xiao Feng (former president of the Chinese Academy of Art and advisor to the Chinese Artists Association), Mr. Zhang Hua Sheng (president of the Zhejiang Painting Academy), Mr. Liu Jiang (vice-president of the Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society and who, as professor at the China Academy of Art, is seen as a giant in the Chinese calligraphy field), Wu Shanming (former department chair, The Department of Chinese Painting, China Academy of Art), Jin Zhilin (associate director, The School of International Education, China Academy of Art), Zhu Suizhi (department chair, The Department of Calligraphy, China Academy of Art), Wang Dongling (Vice-Chairperson on Research in Calligraphy Theories, China Academy of Art), Yang Gu Cheng (chairperson of the Ningpo City Art and Craft Artists Association) and Ren Daobin (International College China Academy of Art academy/college president) were in attendance. Visitors flowed into the hall upon the opening of the doors, and there were many scenes of exchange through interpreters between the Japanese and Chinese exhibitors, as well as questions from the general public and more. Mr. Feng and Mr. Jiang also made their way around the venue and expressed their opinions on each work. |

As a cooperative exhibition of artists representing both countries, a great deal of interest was displayed in this event even before its opening, and the media was there en force to cover not only that first day. Visiting the hall were students from the Chinese Academy of Art, naturally, but also many other students determined to become artists, and the sight of these individuals ardently appreciating the works on display was impressive
As a special project of the sponsors, an event that will become a major proviso
for the future of the exhibitors was simultaneously held. Japan
exhibitors were invited to the Chinese Academy of Art and academyRen
Daobin critiqued slides of their work in the lecture hall.
Hearing comments on individual works from this art educator at
the highest level in China will be excellent reference for many
of the exhibitors who are also regularly involved in instruction.
